Discover the art of crafting a chawan, or tea bowl that embodies the Japanese aesthetics of wabi and sabi. Through the ceramic technique of carving, you will learn to shape a vessel that is worthy of a ceremony and the best matcha. Matcha and hojicha will be served and the art of preparing and whisking a bowl of traditional matcha will be demonstrated.
(All materials provided. Chawan will be fired to stoneware temperature & can be picked up 6 to 8 weeks after the class.)
